As an Aromatherapist I certainly have my favorites. Let's talk in detail about the best essential oils for wrinkles and how they can help your skin if used properly in a homemade treatment or store-bought natural wrinkle cream.

Rose Essential Oil

Rose oil is a great essential oil for wrinkle as well as adults with dry, sensivite skin.

Rose essential oil is an astringent and emollient oil. This means that it can be used to clean pores which is helpful if you have "mature" skin but still get the occassional pimple.

It helps in toning and tightening sagging skin, and therefore, helps to prevent wrinkles and fine lines.

Frankincense Essential Oil

Frankincense essential oil is known for its many medicinal and therapeutic components, but it is also excellent essential oil for wrinkles.

It clears the skin from blemishes, and it is great for dry complexions as well.

It will help smooth creases, wrinkles and scars.

Myrrh Essential Oil

Myrrh is a lesser-known partner to frankincense as is also a great anti aging skincare oil.

Myrrh essential oils are used to treat rashes and blemishes caused by bacteria and eczema.

Myrrh is used in lotions and creams to moisturize dry, cracked skin, and to reduce wrinkles.

Rosemary Essential Oil

Rosemary essential oil quickens the process of cell renewal. This helps in improving mature or dry skin, and lessens fine lines and wrinkles.

It also helps in healing wounds and burns, clearing acne and blemishes, and combating bacteria.

It improves blood circulation, resulting in a more radiant, clear complexion.

Palmarosa Essential Oil

Used in skin and hair care, palmarosa oil is great for improving skin that has been damaged by prolonged exposure to the sun. This makes it particularily useful for people seeking an anti aging and anti wrinkle solution due to alot of sun exposure.

It combats acne, lessens the appearance of acne scars and wrinkles, and cools the skin. It is said to have properties that stimulates new cell growth, and speeds healing, is excellent for undernourished skin, and has anti-inflammatory properties.

Fennel Essential Oil

Fennel essential oil is known as an antiseptic and stimulant oil making it another great essential oil for wrinkles. It soothes, cleanses and tones the skin, which is superb for mature complexions.

It helps in preventing wrinkles and minimizes the appearance of fine lines. It also reduces water retention, which helps in reducing eye bags. Fennel oil also balances hormones and regulates blood circulation.

Rosewood Essential Oil

Rosewood oil encourages growth of new cells making it really helpful for anti aging. This means, it smoothes acne scars, treating blemishes and preventing wrinkles.

Rosewood oil is gentle to sensitive skin, and can be used to balance oily and dry complexions. It moisturizes the skin and helps prevent premature aging.

Using Essential Oils for Anti Aging

These essential oils should be used sparingly.

Essential oils for acne can be mixed and used together for maximum benefits, but they must be used in tiny quantities. They should not be applied directly on the skin. Instead, these essential oils must be diluted in carrier oils such as jojoba oil or mixed in homemade creams or lotions.

Although these oils can be purchased easily, it is best to buy high quality concentrated oils or organic oils for best results. If you're too afraid to make your own anti wrinkle creams, follow this guide when choosing products that contain essential oils for wrinkles.
